The Salone del Mobile 2024 in Milan has been, as every year, an essential point of reference for architects, designers and industry enthusiasts. The event offered a wide showcase of the latest trends and innovations in the world of furniture and design, highlighting the balance between aesthetics, functionality and technology. Below, an overview of the most interesting news that emerged from my experience as an architect and studio.
The elegance of Pietro Castelli
One of the most striking brands was Pietro Castelli, who combined elegant lines, light and furniture in a harmonious way. The design of Castelli is distinguished by its cleanliness and refinement, without ever renouncing to fine finishes such as brass, gold, precious metals and crystal. The integration of material elements such as fabrics, hemp sofas and other natural materials gives the rooms a touch of elegance and a unique emotion, transforming them into welcoming and sophisticated spaces.
Innovations in Cooking: Boffi and Modunova
The kitchens featured Boffi and Modunova with innovative proposals of great impact. Modunova presented a suspended kitchen that also integrates laundry and dishwasher, maintaining an elegant and functional design. Faithful to its tradition, Boffi exhibited a kitchen designed by Piero Lissoni, maintaining a line consistent with the brand’s values. In addition, Hadid’s cuisine for Boffi has aroused great admiration, confirming once again Zaha Hadid’s mastery in combining aesthetics and functionality. A recurring theme was the integration of the kitchen doors with those of the doors, creating a visual continuity that makes the environment harmonious and coherent.
Innovations in the Baths: Lupi and Salvatori
Even in the bathroom sector, there was no lack of news. Lupi and Salvatori have proposed solutions that integrate washbasin and furniture in a single element, ensuring practicality and refined design. Salvatori has introduced steel in the lining materials of the tanks, while Lupi has presented bright glass bathrooms and boiserie that host the furniture elements, creating functional spaces and great aesthetic impact. These elements are designed to blend with architecture, offering innovative solutions that meet modern needs.
The Modularity of Poliform
Poliform has been able to better interpret the theme of the integration of elements. The line presented at the Salone del Mobile 2024 stands out for its ability to create continuity between living area, sleeping area, library and walk-in closet. The furnishings of Poliform are born from a common matrix and are transformed modularly, adapting to different functions and needs. This flexibility and modularity allow to read the space in a fluid and harmonious way, creating personalized and functional environments.
Enge: A Tribute to Matter
Finally, Henge has confirmed its place among the favorite brands, thanks to the skilful use of materials such as backlit onyx, marble and semi-precious stones. The integration of iron in an industrial key and evocative lighting maintain the anthropological character of the material, while following a contemporary and modern line. Henge manages to combine aesthetics and functionality in a unique way, creating environments that evoke deep and lasting sensations.
